While many business sectors are facing their challenges, OCVM CEO, Steve Danne, has witnessed tremendous growth in his specialist Owners Corporation management firm over the past 24-months. This has meant growing his staff by 50% to a team of 38, as a wealth of new clients come on board looking for systematically practical, reliable, and efficient services.
“There seems to be a consolidation taking place in the strata management business at this time,” said Steve. “Several players are exiting the market, which is where a proportion of OCVM’s new clients are coming from. This has attracted a few new operators. At the same time, we’re seeing a systematic improvement in management procedure and service delivery across the top end of professional providers, redefining delivery expectations of strata management services overall.
“This is where much new business is originating for OCVM. At this juncture, about 80% of our clients are in the residential strata market and 20% in the commercial space. An increasing percentage of both client types involve high-rise premises or complex commercial and industrial sites. We envisage this continuing to grow as our management team has the diverse property industry knowledge and experience needed to really understand the essential and desirable elements to efficiently get the best structural, operational, and financial returns.
“We operate with transparency and accountability and strive to demonstrate ourselves as one of the most professional, dependable, and innovative Owners Corporation and Strata Management Companies currently operating in Australia. So, before we can represent a client, we inspect the physical property and audit all management and maintenance undertaken to date.
“For larger, more complex sites we will often choose to team up with Buildspect because of their excellent practical communication and exact legal reporting skills.
“At the end of the day all stakeholders want the best headache-free outcome within time and budget. Complex property repair and redevelopment can require a detailed and accountable eye. We need to rely on such seasoned experts to appraise any concerns identified during that process and put together a proposal for how best to remedy the issues identified in an effective and timely manner over the immediate-, medium-, and long-term.
“With Buildspect, we know we can agree on a project management plan and let them get on with what they do best, and we can oversee our business. We don’t have to micromanage the project as they’ve proven an excellent partner over time. It’s efficient risk management because we all understand exactly what needs to happen to get the best job done for all involved. They are considered an industry leader in legal reporting which means we can rest assured all i’s and being dotted and t’s being crossed exactly as necessary.”
